CHALKUPY THE WORLD #A9 FREE EXPRESSION AGAINST POLICE AND POLITICAL REPRESSION
I have been drawing on the sidewalk since I was a kid. Lol… come see my work on 6th and Brazos, Austin, TX, or look me up on Facebook “Kimchi Shreds”. Keep chalking it up!
this beautiful chalk piece was completed this morning by comrades from the Fresh Juice Party of Occupy Oakland, shortly before the arrests were made by LAPD. (a source this morning told me two were arrested, and another just confirmed only one arrest.)
]the artist now sits in jail, forced to feed the monstrous machine of the PIC. can you smell the fascism through the internets? FTP.
WE, the people, however, will not let the police state silence us. the festivities will begin as planned at 7:30pm on the northeast corner of Pershing Square (5th and Hill) in Downtown LA. there will be food, music, cotton candy, popcorn, balloon animals, and bubbles. we will also have chalk boards available for those who wish to participate without risking arrest.
come out and voice your dissent through art! chalk is NOT vandalism. just don’t forget to look all ways before you chalkupy! affinity groups are key, and make sure someone is with you, recording/observing your arrest. also, read this awesome Know Your Rights - Chalkupy edition.
SO MUCH LOVE for FJP and Oakland!
We will gather on the northeast corner of Pershing Square (5th St. / Hill St.) around 6:30 pm to mingle, make art and set up, and the festivities will begin at 7:30 pm.
Yes, festivities. We will have lots of beautiful chalk art, a cotton candy machine, popcorn, and bubbles!
as of 10:30 this morning, the fascist pigs have already arrested 3 people, including two comrades from the Fresh Juice Party of Oakland, who sent a bus down to create art in solidarity with Occupy L.A. and the recent political repression here. The LAPD were given full orders to arrest anyone chalking in downtown L.A. today. So please remember,
Create art at your own risk, and look both ways before you chalkupy!
We will also have chalk boards for those who wish to participate without risk of arrest.
